At West Coast Leather San Francisco, we offer a comprehensive Custom Orders, Expert Alterations, Repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Restyling Program for clients from throughout the fashion world.

Our only USA location specializes in working with leather garments and accessories of all types. We take great pride in our craftsmanship and work individually with each client—typically beginning with a personal fitting and consultation—to achieve the desired fit, style and finished result.

Custom Leather Restyling & Vintage Repurposing

Vintage leather is becoming an exciting trend, and West Coast Leather is helping clients give treasured garments and bags a new life.

We specialize in restyling and repurposing vintage leather garments and accessories, transforming existing pieces into distinctive, wearable works of art. Clients of all ages come to us for professional recommendations on how to update, resize, modernize or completely transform their favorite leather pieces.

Our services can include alterations, repairs, restoration, resizing, zipper replacement, lining replacement, restyling and creative repurposing.

Basic Alteration Pricing

The following prices are general estimates. Final pricing may vary depending on the leather, garment construction, thickness, lining, hardware and complexity of the alteration.

Some heavy or specialty leather garments may require alterations at our Los Angeles production facility. When this is necessary, shipping charges will apply and must be paid in advance.

Sleeves

• Shorten Sleeves — No Zipper: $200
• Shorten Sleeves with Zipper — Lambskin: $250
• Shorten Sleeves with Zipper — Cowhide: $300

Linings

• Replace Entire Lining — Men's or Women's Short Jacket: $250
• Wedding Satin Lining: Available upon request
• Additional Pocket Lining: $25 per pocket

Garment Length

• Three-Quarter or Blazer Length: $300
• Full-Length Garment: $500 and up

Leather Pants

• Take In Leather Pants: $150–$200
  Includes slimming the leg width and adjusting the waistband.

Making a Garment Larger

In some cases, we can add leather to increase the size of a garment. This service is dependent upon the garment's construction and the availability of matching or complementary leather.

For example, enlarging a jacket through the sides and increasing sleeve width can start at approximately $300.

Zipper Replacement

• Women's Front Zipper Replacement: Approximately $200
• Men's Front Zipper Replacement: Approximately $200–$250

Certain zipper replacements may require sourcing specialty hardware or matching a specific zipper color or finish. Additional vendor or hardware costs may apply.

Snap Replacement

• Snap Replacement: Approximately $25 per snap

Standard alterations generally take approximately one week, although timing can vary depending on the project and materials required.

In certain circumstances, we can accommodate an expedited two-business-day turnaround. Please contact us in advance to discuss your project and availability.

For larger or more complex projects, please allow approximately 30–45 calendar days.

Turnaround times vary depending on the garment, materials, alterations required and whether specialty work or production-facility services are necessary.
