One of the highlights of 2012 came when I received a call from the stylist for a GQ magazine feature with supermodel Chrissy Teigen. In the fashion business, these calls often come with very little notice, and the pressure is always on to find the perfect piece that not only fits the talent but also captures the mood of the editorial.
The stylist was looking for something that would stand out—something with attitude, confidence, and unmistakable rock-and-roll energy. I suggested a pair of black lizard-print leather mini shorts designed by American fashion designer Skip Pas. The shorts had exactly the right combination of edge and sophistication, making them the perfect choice for the shoot.
When the feature was published, the look became part of a fun and memorable GQ video in which Chrissy playfully demonstrated how to dance at a rock concert—and, just as importantly, how not to dance. Her humor, personality, and confidence made the segment unforgettable, and the video quickly gained attention online.
Seeing a garment that I had helped place become part of a nationally recognized magazine feature was incredibly rewarding. Moments like these remind you that fashion isn't just about clothing—it's about helping create memorable images and cultural moments that people remember years later.
