For West Coast Leather TV

American fashion designer Skip Pas of West Coast Leather partnered with the Metal Hall of Fame to make custom jackets for the Inductees, presented at the Metal Hall of Fame Gala in January.  Skip Pas and Jamie Lee Kendall of West Coast Leather TV sat down with model, singer, and content creator Myranda Edwins who modeled for us on the red carpet and at the awards, and who also attended the event along with her father who is in the music business as well.  Myranda's Instagram: @myranda_edwins.  Here is her interview.

WCL: You look great.  Please tell us about what you are you wearing today.

Myranda: I am wearing a pink blazer to keep it professional and classy as well as my favorite Versace good luck chain.  I chose to go with warmer tones because it complements my skin tone, but I still wanted to do something business casual.  I am wearing a black catsuit that can be styled in any kind of way.  I think catsuits are a really safe piece for me to wear.

WCL: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

Myranda: I am a model, singer, songwriter and content creator with a background in editorial and high fashion inspired work.  I have done freelance modeling and worked with notable photographers like Christiaan Mikey who has done all of Avril Lavigne's tour content and that really gave me my foot into entertainment.

In addition to modeling, I have experience curating a strong digital presence.  My digital presence is what landed me placements in Style Cruze Magazine for glamour and also Lyric Genius on a song collaboration I did with my colleagues.

Beyond modeling I come from a family with deep roots in music. Our work has been sampled by artists like Dr. Dre and featured in Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto.  I'm passionate about entertainment, branding, storytelling, and I'm focused on expanding my reach into the industry through collaborations and high impact visuals.

WCL: That's super exciting. Do you have any music right now that someone could buy on Itunes? What is your goal with the music? You are so beautiful and striking.  You fit our West Coast Leather clothes so well!

Myranda: Right now I have the song "I'm Not On My Phone 24/7" with my friend Snooze God available. I am currently working on releasing "You're the One For Me." That is the song that Dr. Dre sampled from my family.  I'm going to retell the story through a female perspective and rewrite the lyrics.

WCL: Tell us what it means when a big star samples it?

Myranda: In this case they reworked both the lyrics and melody and reimagined it through their own storytelling.

WCL: Tell us about your experience with the podcast and iHeartRadio.

Myranda: Kaitlyn Scott is my friend who has a podcast called "Fresh and Classy" and we kept in touch Fresh and Classy.  She had audiences in Australia and Europe and I got to tell my background story and it got me a lot of exposure.  We now plan to do another podcast episode in early February too.

WCL: What was your favorite thing about attending the Metal Hall of Fame Awards?

Myranda: It was a huge honor. My favorite part was helping the fire victims in Los Angeles and raise relief for them.  I also liked the social aspect, showcasing West Coast Leather, and meshing with metal fans. I am used to hip hop and R&B. I was also able to showcase a lot of digital content and put it on my blog.

WCL: Nice answer. Also you were interviewed on Roku, who was the main host. I hope you are able to find it.

Myranda: Yes - that was so exciting. I can't wait to find it and share it with my friends, followers and family. It was a huge milestone.  I know that Hulu and many others all platform through Roku.

WCL: Yes there were literally 30-50 press and media there and other metal companies. You were well spoken and the host was very impressed with you. Before I even met you I saw you had 235,000 followers.  Has this just been building quickly? How did you get to this level?

Myranda: A lot of it came from collaborations with different brands like Bush Designs and my cousin, J Maine. I studied how he reads analytics and integrates it.  He has 3 million followers on Instagram.  I also do TikTok, which helped me gained a lot of traction.  Also found that Pinterest is my niche. It is branded toward people interested in music, fashion and art.

WCL: How did it feel to wear the gold metallic French lace dress also worn by Victoria Beckham and Nicole Scherzinger? You wore the cropped Playboy Jacket in the gold and the Metal Hall of Fame with five layers and everyone wanted a picture with you.

Myranda: Growing up some of my favorite artists were the Pussycat Dolls, Spice Girls, and Britney Spears so it was such an honor but wearing those in particular made me feel like I was commanding. It was a statement piece and the gold complemented my skin tone. The leather fits my body, It is structured, fluid, and I could move to do press and do great poses and angles. It is a blend of angles, rock and edge.

WCL: What do you have planned for 2025?

Myranda: I hope to do more with collaborations with my cousin, J Maine, who is a Tik Tok creator.  He guided me into the industry and gave me transferrable skills.
